Important Update regarding our “in-person” meetings

July 1, 2021

Dear Saints in Davis,

With the recent reopening of California and relaxation of restrictions on in-person gatherings, the brothers feel to present this fellowship to the saints, so that we can continue to meet in-person with a clear conscience, and in one accord. We hope to to be “diligent to keep the oneness of the Spirit in the uniting bond of peace” (Eph. 4:3) and follow Paul’s example in Romans 14:3 “He who eats, let him not despise him who does not eat; and he who does not eat, let him not judge him who eats, for God has received him.”

We feel to apply this verse to the current situation among us as follows: “He who wears a mask or is vaccinated, let him not despise him who does not wear a mask or is unvaccinated; and he who does not wear a mask or is not vaccinated, let him not judge him who wears a mask or is vaccinated, for God has received him.”

In this spirit of receiving all of God’s children, we feel that the saints who choose to meet in-person with the church in Davis, either at the Lord’s Table or other future meetings, should come and meet according to their conscience and choice of either wearing a mask, or getting vaccinated, and not be dependent on what others may choose. The brothers feel the saints should have the liberty of either wearing a mask or not to wear a mask, irrespective of a person’s vaccination status.

If any saint is uncomfortable with this arrangement, they may choose to continue meeting on-line through Zoom.

Finally, we pray the saints would experience the practical oneness in this environment and be open and receive others who have made a different choice so that all the saints may dwell together in goodness and pleasantness, and receive the blessing of the Holy Spirit coming down as dew.

Brothers in Davis.
